50 PLUS FUNERAL PLAN

Plan Terms & Conditions


1. Definitions

Application: means your application for a 50 Plus Funeral Plan.

Fixed Monthly Payments: means the fixed monthly payments that will be paid to our chosen insurance provider, by direct debit when you take out your plan. This is a monthly payment plan that needs to be paid for until time of need or until the policy anniversary following your 90th birthday.

Funeral Plan Provider: means the selected provider of funerals that we will secure to provide your desired funeral plan.

Insurance provider: means the insurance company chosen by Wren & Fraser (Broker Services) Ltd to provide insurance cover for your funeral plan.

Membership pack: means the pack sent to you by Wren & Fraser (Broker Services) Ltd within 28 days of the start date of your plan.

Payment Method: means the way that you have chosen to pay for your plan.

Plan Holder: means the person(s) that the plan is for. The plan holder may also be the plan purchaser.

Plan Purchaser: means the person that is paying for the plan and is responsible for making all the payments due under the payment method. The plan purchaser may also be the plan holder.

Plan date: means the date that your plan commences. Your plan commences once we and the Insurance provider have accepted and processed your application and after the first payment has been cleared. The plan start date is shown on the membership pack.

Representative: means the plan holder’s personal representative or other representative who has legally been appointed and authorised to act on their behalf after their death, e.g. executor or trustee etc.

Secured Funeral: means a specified funeral contractually secured by us with the Funeral Plan Provider which will include the costs of the Funeral Plan Providers fees but not third-party fees such as officiant’s fees and crematorium fees.

Us/we/our: means Wren & Fraser (Broker Services) Ltd.

You/Your: means the plan purchaser/representative who may also be the plan holder.

Your plan: means the 50 Plus Funeral Plan that you have chosen on your application.

2. Your 50 Plus Funeral Plan

The 50 Plus Funeral Plan is provided by
Wren & Fraser (Broker Services) Ltd

Payment is made by fixed monthly payments through which a whole of life insurance policy will be purchased with us as the beneficiary and a direct debit will be set up with our chosen life insurance policy provider.

If you do not maintain monthly payments, then the plan may be cancelled by us and no refund of any payments made will be given and no contribution towards the cost of your funeral will be paid.

Please note that for all whole of life policies the provider will pay out the proceeds to us. We shall pay these proceeds to the Funeral Plan Provider who will arrange your selected funeral or at the option of your estate hold such proceeds on behalf of your estate or Representative as selected on your application.

3. Your Application

By completing your application, you are agreeing to buy your plan subject to these terms and conditions and are responsible for making all the payments due under the selected payment method.

If you are purchasing this plan on behalf of someone else, you will have the rights and benefits set out in these terms and conditions. If you are purchasing this plan for you, you will have the rights and benefits set out in these terms and conditions and they will pass to your estate or to your Representative on your death.

4. The Aim of the Plan

The aim of the plan is to secure your desired funeral with our Funeral Plan Provider or if you (or your representatives) wish to make your own arrangements at a later date provide a contribution for you and your loved ones to the cost of the funeral selected.

5. What your plan includes

After the first 2 years of the plan a contribution towards the cost of your secured funeral with our Funeral Plan Provider will be made or at the option of your Representatives a contribution towards your funeral requirements will be paid by us to your estate or Representative when you die. If you die within the first then your estate will be refunded the sum of your monthly payments. If the cost of your funeral is more than the plan value at the time of need then the difference will need to be paid by your family, estate or your representative. If the cost of the funeral is less than the plan value at the time of need then the difference may be kept by your family, estate or representative.

6. Your funeral plan documents

We will send a membership pack with your unique customer number and all relevant documents within 28 days of the plan start date. You should keep this in a safe place and let your family or representative know where it is kept.

9. VAT

Most elements of the funeral service are currently value added tax (VAT) exempt. Your plan will not include VAT if you have not specified any additional services because it is not currently charged on the items/services included in our set funeral plans. Some additional services may include VAT, according to the regulations set out by HM Customs and Revenue. We include VAT at its current rate on the cost of any additional services in your plan for which VAT is currently payable at the rate applicable at the plan start date.

10. How information held about you or your representatives is held

The information we hold about you and your Representative will be used for the purpose of administering your plan only and for the purchase of the whole of life insurance policy from our chosen life insurance provider.

We may be under a duty to disclose or share personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation.

We will not give your information to any other third party.

12. Eligibility

You are eligible to take out our 50 Plus Funeral Plan if you are 18 years old or older. If you are paying by Fixed Monthly Payments the plan holder however must be aged between 50 and 75.

13. Complaints

Complaints about your plan should be made to us in writing at

14. Cancelling your plan

You have the right to cancel your plan and to receive a full refund with no obligation by contacting us in writing at

within 28 days of the plan start date. If you decide to cancel your plan after 28 days from the Plan start date, no monies will be refunded, and we will have no further obligation to fulfil your plan.
